The garment, called AMIMONO, was designed in collaboration with Free-D, a Japanese technology design brand run by 3D designer Masaharu Ono. Masaharu Ono is known for its popular 3D jewelry and fashion accessories. It is understood that this garment looks a bit similar to some kind of chain vest in the moment, because its surface is composed of a knitted or braided texture. That is to say, AMIMONO does not first print different parts in 3D and then assemble them, but uses a 3D printer to use TPU wires as the wires. These are achieved by combining digital design with woven textures. That is to say, the garment was digitally constructed using an algorithm that generates a knit pattern. Does it sound complicated? According to STARted, the effect of knitting this garment is very challenging because it involves not only incorporating the composition into the design, but the more practical issue is how to treat the TPU material as a braided wire. In the end, they obviously overcome many of these challenges, because this dress is really amazing. Although this simple white vest may not be as complicated and dazzling as the 3D printed fashion we often see on the T-stage, AMIMONO may be one of the best 3D printing garments to wear on the body (at least Tiangongshe It’s like this.) It is said that due to the elastic properties of the TPU, this 3D printed vest can be stretched and shrunk, just like a sweater.
