Large-scale paper company in the world
The PPT, published in September this year, published the list of 150 paper companies with the highest amount of world sales last year (1999). Compared with the previous year, the situation is similar, but the difference is not significant, but there are two special points. First, some companies have formed a sudden rise due to mergers and acquisitions; the other is the emergence of a leap forward in the rise of emerging Asian paper. 1. Last year, 150 of the top 10 paper companies (1) Intenational Paper has been entrenched in the world's leading paper industry leader for many years, so far no paper company can replace its top position. (2) Sotra Enso of Sweden, as in the previous year, maintained its second place. (3) Qji Paper advanced third place in the previous year. (4) Kinberly Clark retreated from the previous year to fourth place. (5) UPM Kymmene of Finland maintained the fifth place as in the previous year. (6) Eort James Corp of the United States maintained the sixth place as in the previous year. (7) Smurfit-Stone Con-tainer Corp. was able to jump to seventh place last year due to the merger of the two companies. (8) Japan's Nippon Paper Industies remained eighth as in the previous year. (9) The United States’ Georgia Pacific Pacific (Ceorgia Pacific) maintains ninth place as before. (10) The United Kingdom Arjo Wiggins Appleton (AWA for short) maintained the tenth place as in the previous year. Second, Asian paper companies entering the 150 list (1) Japan 14: Prince, Japan Paper Industry, Dawang, Dazhaohe, United, Mitsubishi, Lintec, North Vietnam, Japan Paperboard Industry, China Vietnam, Marunouchi, Donghai Pulp, Japanese processing paper, Kishu. (2) Five Koreas: Han Song, Mao Lin, Daehan Pulp, Korea, and Qixing. (3) Three Taiwan, China: Yongfengyu, Zhenglong, and China Pulp. (4) Singapore 3: Asia Pulp and Paper (APP), PanAsia Paper, Asia Pacific Resoutces International Holdings. (5) Thailand: Siam Pulp & Paper. (6) China: Guangzhou Paper Company. This is the only company in our country who has been among the top 150 paper makers this year. It has become the 150th and has a national production capacity of 300,000 tons. In fact, at present, China's paper mills with an annual output of more than 300,000 tons already have Ningbo Zhonghua Paper, Changshu Asia Pacific Paper, Zhenjiang Jindong Paper, Dongcheng Xiaolong Paper, Shandong Chenming Paper, Fujian Nanping Paper and Qingzhou Paper, etc., and therefore it is estimated that the list of Chinese paper makers will exceed 10 companies in the next year. We may as well wait and see. 3. Changes in the status of China's Taiwan in the rankings China's Taiwanese papermaking companies that were listed on the list have, in addition to the above three, Rongcheng and Wanyou. In the previous year, Wan You was squeezed out due to a business downturn, and Rong Cheng reduced his sales amount by selling two household paper mills last year. The three companies currently listed in the Taiwan region are: (1) Yongfengyu Paper Company ranks 81st in the rankings, which is a retreat of six from the previous year. Last year, the sales amount was 562 million US dollars and the annual output was 1.229 million tons. (2) Zhenglong Company ranked 99th in the rankings, and retreated 3 points from the previous year. Last year, the sales amount was 419 million U.S. dollars, and the annual output was 1.011 million tons. (3) China Pulp Company: ranked 143th in the rankings, one more than the previous year. Last year, the sales amount was 173 million U.S. dollars, and the annual output was 166,000 tons of commercial wood pulp and 111,000 tons of paper. Fourth, other noteworthy situations In the Asian paper industry, there are several paper-making companies that have developed rapidly in recent years and have attracted much attention from the industry. (1) Singapore's Asian Pulp & Paper Company (APP) ranks 17th in the rankings, up 7 from the previous year. (2) South Korea's Hansol Psper ranked 66th in the rankings, down from 39 of the previous year to 66 last year. (3) Singapore's Asia Pacific Resources International Corporation (APRIL) ranks 100th in the rankings, from 114 of the previous year's 114 major leap forwards to 100. (4) Thailand's Siam Pulp & Paper ranked 80th in the rankings, up from 12 in the previous year. Last year, the sales amount was 572 million US dollars, an increase of 9.0% over the previous year; annual output of paper and board was 1.13 million tons.
