In textile companies, it is often necessary to handle raw materials and accessories that are packaged. Nowadays, a new type of safety cutting machine with a spring-loaded locking safety guard has been developed by the German company Martor. It is mainly used to open cartons and sacks and has passed the CS (German Standard) test. Once the contact with the cut surface fails, the safety cover will automatically press and lock, even if the red safety cover is released.

When the cutter opens a cardboard box with different wall thickness, it may cause some damage to the contents of the box. In this case, it is often necessary to manually adjust the depth of cut, perform a secondary cut, or have to manually open the carton. This safety cutter can handle different cutting depths. By moving the slider, the cutting depth can easily be 6.5mm or 16mm. Since the slider can be operated from either side, both the right hand and the left hand can be conveniently used.
