The thickness of the new blanket will change greatly during the initial stage. After adjustment, the thickness of the blanket will remain stable during the longer normal use. Therefore, after printing for a period of time, the thickness of the liner must be increased or reduced. Small center distance to make up. However, this kind of stability is relative. After a large number of printings, the pressure applied to the blanket during use is different. If the amount of plastic deformation is different, it will cause unevenness in the thickness of the blanket.

In the offset printing process, due to the improper adjustment of the paper feeding section or the carelessness of the operation, it is often easy to have thick small pieces of paper, stiff fiber bundles in the paper, and multiple sheets of paper stuffed into the drum to make the partial depression of the drum blanket. Sagging, due to insufficient printing pressure in the low concave area, it can not completely transfer images and texts. It can be remedied in time by the following methods.

(1) Using a blanket back shimming method. In order to prevent the depression from appearing after the blanket is removed, draw a corresponding size mark with a ballpoint pen on the front of the blanket. After removing the blanket, find the same size marker on the back side according to the mark you just drew. The drawn mark must be accurate. Afterwards, select the appropriate paper with a depression at the depression of the blanket, tear or cut to the same size as the mark. If the thickness of a piece of paper is not enough, two or three pastes and glue can be used to glue the product horizontally. In the depression on the back of the blanket, the glue can be dry before installing the blanket.

(2) Use a blanket to wash the reducing agent for remediation. The effect is also ideal. It is convenient and practical. Use a brush to pick up the blanket to reduce the reducing agent and rub it on the area where the blanket is not covered with ink. This will have an immediate effect.

After using the blanket for a period of time, even if it can still be used normally, let it rest for a while. Remove the blanket from the machine, first use detergent or gasoline to clean the ink and oil on it; then wash with 50% alkaline solution to saponify the grease that penetrates the surface of the blanket; then wash it with water to remove the saponification. The object is wiped dry; the talcum powder is finally thrown in and stored according to the method described above, so that after a period of “resting” the blanket can restore the original elasticity to a certain extent, effectively extending its service life.

Because the blanket has the drawbacks of photo-aging and heat aging, the blanket cloth to be used should be rolled up after purchase, wrapped in black paper, stored in a ventilated and dry place, away from light and heat sources, and oils. Various types of chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and salts are best stored at about 20°C and relative humidity at 70%. The new blanket has a smooth layer of anti-oxidation film, which is scrubbed with pumice powder, gasoline, and can ensure that the surface of the blanket has good ink adsorption performance.

The effective part of the printing needs to be kept clean constantly. If it is not clean, it will affect the printing pressure. If there is ink or other impurities fixed on the surface of the blanket, the printing pressure will change, thus affecting the quality of the print. The non-printing sites should also be kept clean. If this part is not kept clean, with the continuous coagulation of sludge and other impurities, and the increase in printing pressure, the surface of the blanket will be destroyed, resulting in its non-normal use.

Keeping the surface of the blanket clean should also be aware of the intersection of the active parts of the printing, where the ink and other contaminants are the most concentrated. As the pressure increases, the fatigue of the blanket is accelerated, and the blanket in this area is most prone to cracks, so it is necessary to prevent the accumulation of impurities there.
