Through the derivation and transformation of the buoyancy and density calculation formulas to form an equation, first use a high-precision solid analysis balance to calculate the weight of the sample to be tested in air (W1) and the weight in water (W2), and calculate W1-W2 Value, the density of water is ρ = 1 by default, and the equation is established by V sample = V drainage, the density value of the sample can be calculated: ρ = W1 / (W1-W2) xρ water, this is the solid calculation formula. (1) Non-absorbent product density meter (products with porosity less than 2% porous);

Its defined volume does not include open pores, or open pores will not be infiltrated by water, which is called Apparent Density and is denoted by Da below.

Measuring range: including the measured density of the closed pores in the sample object.

Representative products: powder sintered products that rubber, plastic products, hard alloys, precious metals, etc. or external liquids cannot penetrate, or porous products with small pores.

Calculation formula: apparent density = (weight of sample in air × water density) ÷ (weight of sample in air-weight of sample in water)

That is: Da = (Wa × ρ) ÷ (Wa-ww)

(2): Density tester for water-absorbing products (porous products with porosity greater than 2%):

Its defined volume includes open pores and closed pores, which is generally referred to as sintered density in powder metallurgy, which is called bulk density (Bulk Density).

Measuring range: includes the density measured by the closed pore and open pore density meter in the sample object.

Representative products: powder metallurgy, precision ceramics, oxidized magnets, soil, water-absorbing materials, etc. or powder sintered products into which external liquid can penetrate or porous products with large pores

Calculation formula: body density = (weight of unoiled sample in air × water density value) ÷ (weight of sample in air after waterproofing or oil penetration-weight of sample in water after waterproofing or oil penetration)
