BOPP Bottle: An Unbreakable Force

<

With the localization of China BOPP infusion bottle production equipment and its accompanying sterilization and filling equipment, the pattern of China's large infusion glass bottle packaging is rapidly changing, and the BOPP infusion bottle is showing strong growth momentum. By the first half of next year, the production capacity of existing and under construction BOPP bottles will exceed 1 billion bottles/a, and BOPP bottle packaging will become the mainstream packaging form for large transfusion medicines. Bottles, soft plastic infusion bags and hard BOPP bottles are taking shape in the third world.
The BOPP bottles and related production technologies and equipment developed by Hong Kong Environment Science and Technology Group have attracted extensive attention from the industry since its inception. Compared with PET hot filling bottles, BOPP bottles have the following characteristics:
1. Good temperature resistance. Crystallized hot-filled PET bottles can only withstand filling temperatures up to 93 °C, while BOPP bottles can easily withstand temperatures above 95 °C, making hot filling processes a breeze.
2. low cost. PP resin is about US$200 cheaper per ton than PET, and the market is stable. In addition to other factors, BOPP bottles cost on average 20% less than PET bottles.
3. The production process is simple. Since PP resin itself does not absorb moisture, it is not necessary to use a special equipment like the PET resin for drying before processing, nor does it require heat setting and bottle crystallization, and the entire production process is easy to control. And a set of equipment can produce ordinary BOPP bottles, can also produce hot filling bottles, the production rate will not decline.
4. A small investment in equipment. BOPP production equipment is far cheaper than hot-fill PET production equipment because it does not require drying and heat-setting equipment;
5. High equipment utilization. Because the PET hot-fill bottles are easy to absorb moisture and reduce the crystallinity, so that the temperature resistance performance is reduced, so the shelf life is usually not more than 14 days.

The biggest cost factor in bottled beverages is packaging, which generally accounts for more than 60% of the direct cost of beverages. At the peak, a tea beverage bottle can be sold for more than one piece. Therefore, the use of high quality and inexpensive packaging bottles not only affects the survival of the beverage companies, but also directly affects the price of beverages and the immediate interests of consumers.
The vast majority of tea drinks on the market today use PET plastic bottles. Unlike PET, which is generally filled with mineral water, tea beverages require hot-filling and require high temperature resistance and high strength. Therefore, PET beverage packaging uses heat-setting PET hot filling bottles. The strength and temperature resistance of the bottle are improved by increasing the crystallinity of the PET resin.
PET hot filling bottle transparency and barrier properties are relatively good, the process is more mature. The disadvantages are high cost and complicated production process. PET raw materials and bottles are susceptible to moisture absorption. The shelf life of empty bottles is short, which is detrimental to the production of enterprises and the full utilization of equipment, and the one-time investment in equipment is large.
