Size calculation of hardcover and paperback

<

Hardcover books are divided into round back hardcover and square back hardcover. The hardcover book case is usually slightly larger than the book block by 2mm to 4mm, and the large part is called the floating mouth. It can play the role of protecting the book block, and looks beautiful. The dimensions of each part of the hardcover case are analyzed and calculated as follows.

Mid-seam: refers to the distance between the cardboard on the back cover and the middle-diameter cardboard (commonly known as the fire line position) when the book cover is unfolded and laid flat. After the book block is put on the shell, the middle slot is used to press the book slot, which is beautiful and easy to read, strong and durable. If the size is too large, the book slot is not obvious, the shell surface is not compact, and the size of the float is increased; if the size is too small, the cover of the book slot may burst. This size is generally 7mm ~ 10mm, according to experience, the round endorsement is generally 8mm, the square endorsement is 10mm is more suitable (when the thickness of the cover board is less than 2.8mm, the square back end seam size can be 9.5mm).

Middle diameter: refers to the distance between the front cover and the back cover cardboard when the book case is unfolded, it contains two middle seams. When the book case is round back, the middle width is the length of the arc of the back and two middle slits; when the book case is square back, the middle diameter is the width of the book back plus two middle slits; if it is a square back false elbow, the middle The diameter width is the width of the back of the book plus two middle slits plus the thickness of the two cover boards.

Middle-diameter cardboard: There is a piece of cardboard called middle-linked cardboard (commonly known as the center bar) in the middle of the middle diameter (back position of the book). Square-back hardcover book, the width of the middle-diameter cardboard is the thickness of the book block; if the book shell is a square-backed false ridge, the width of the middle-diameter cardboard is equal to the thickness of the book block plus the thickness of the two cover boards and minus 0.5mm; The width of the cardboard is the arc length of the back of the book. In actual production, the book block is often nailed and the book case is also being produced. At this time, the arc length of the back of the book cannot be calculated and measured. Therefore, we summarize a simple approximate calculation method, that is, the arc length of the book back is approximately equal to the thickness of the book block plus 6.5mm, and the book case processed according to this data fully meets the quality requirements. The width of the middle-diameter cardboard must be strictly calculated and measured. When the size is small, the book block cannot fit into the book case; when the size is large, the book block and the book case are not firmly connected and the writing is uneven. The length of the middle-diameter cardboard is the same as that of the round endorsement and the square endorsement, which are equal to the height of the book block plus the size of the two floats.

Cover cardboard: The cover cardboard is divided into two pieces, the same size. In length, the round endorsement and the square endorsement are the same, which is equal to the height of the book block plus the size of the two floats. In terms of width, round-end book is different from square-end book. The width of square-back book is equal to the width of book block minus 3.5mm, and the width of round-back book is equal to the width of book block minus 4.5mm. According to the process and design requirements, the thickness of the middle-diameter cardboard and the cover cardboard may not be the same. The back of the book should be rounded. The middle-diameter cardboard is thin, generally about 0.5mm, and the front and back cover cardboard is 1.5mm to 3.5mm thick. The thickness of the square-diameter case's middle-diameter cardboard is equal to or less than the thickness of the cover cardboard, which is generally determined according to the following principles during design. [next]

When the cardboard is opened, it must be opened along the grain, that is, the direction of the cardboard length (book height) is the same as the direction of the cardboard paper. If it does not follow the grain, the middle-diameter paperboard is easy to break, and the shellboard paper is affected by moisture deformation and curling, which affects the appearance quality of the book.

After the cardboard is fixed on the cover material, the four sides of the cover should be covered. The width of the cover is generally 12mm ~ 16mm. Taking into account the thickness of the cardboard, it is generally calculated by increasing 17mm on each side. When making the shell, the position of the cardboard on the cover tree must be accurate, and the four sides are centered and parallel to each other. An example is given below to explain the calculation method of each part size. A hardcover book is a large 16 format, with a book block height of 297mm, a book block width of 210mm, a total book block thickness of 20mm, and a cover board thickness of 3mm. Floating mouth: round endorsement and square endorsement are equal to 3mm.

Middle diameter cardboard:

Round back cardboard length = book block height + floating mouth × 2 = 297 + 3 × 2 = 303mm

Square backboard length = book block height + floating mouth × 2 = 297 + 3 × 2 = 303mm

Round back cardboard width = book block degree + 6.5 = 20 + 6.5 = 26.5mm

Square backboard width = book block thickness = 20mm

Square back false ridge cardboard width = book block thickness + cover cardboard thickness x 2-0.5 = 20 + 3 x 2-0.5 = 25.5mm

Middle seam:

Round back take 8mm

10mm square back

Cover cardboard:

Round back cardboard length = book block height + floating mouth × 2 = 297 + 3 × 2 = 303mm

Square backboard length = book block height + floating mouth × 2 = 297 + 3 × 2 = 303mm

Round back cardboard width = book block width-4.5 = 210-4.5 = 205.5mm

Square backboard width = book block width-3.5 = 210-3.5 = 206.5mm

Book cover material size:

Round back length = (cover cardboard width + middle seam width) × 2 + middle diameter cardboard width + hemming × 2 = (205.5 + 8) × 2 + 26.5 + 17 × 2 = 487.5mm

Round back width = book block height + floating mouth × 2 + hemming × 2 = 297 + 3 × 2 + 17 × 2 = 337mm

Square back false ridge length = (cover cardboard width + middle seam) × 2 + middle diameter cardboard width + hemming × 2 = (206.5 + 10) × 2 + 25.5 + 17 × 2 = 492.5mm

Square back false ridge width = book block height + floating mouth × 2 + hemming × 2 = 297 + 3 × 2 + 17 × 2 = 337mm

Lipsticks are intended to add color and texture to the Lips and often come in a wide range of colors, as well as finishes such as matte, satin and lustre. Lip stains have a water or gel base and may contain alcohol to help the product stay on the lips. The idea behind lip stains is to temporarily saturate the lips with a dye. Usually designed to be waterproof, the product may come with an applicator brush, rollerball, or be applied with a finger.

Lipstick is a cosmetic containing pigments, oils, waxes, and emolliemt that apply color, texture, and protection to the lips. Many colors and types of lipstick exist. As with most other types of makeup, lipstick is typically, but not exclusively, worn by women. The use of lipstick dates back to medieval times.19
