It is not the first pair of 3D printed high heels, but the first pair of high heels tailored for the Olympic gold medal winner. Recently, design company Julian Hakes and British rapid prototyping company Ogle made a pair of 3D printed high heels for Amy Williams. Amy Williams is the only gold medalist in the UK at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. The shoes are uniquely designed, the sole is printed with nylon material through the SLS process, and then the leather upper is bonded to the sole. Ogle Marketing and Sales Director said: "The shoes have been unveiled on Channel 5 in the UK. We are very happy to be involved in such a unique project, especially for the UK's distinguished Olympic champion. At the same time, 3 printing technologies will definitely be in the future. Showcasing your own innovation capabilities in all walks of life, bringing surprises to everyone."
